The Portland Spring Home & Garden show returns to the Portland Expo Center filled with great home products and ideas. Talk with experts, shop for the newest products and find your inspiration for your next home project. The Seattle Home Show is the Northwest’s largest consumer home showwith everything for the home, Indoors and out – at two annual shows in downtown Seattle at CenturyLink Field Event Center. The Spring and Fall show presents hundreds of exhibits including builders, remodelers, the latest appliances, and fixtures, decorating, landscaping…everything from floor to ceiling and beyond. Attendees also enjoy special features including seminars and wine tasting.

Then I called one of the researchers cited, Bucknell University marketing professor Annetta Grant, who studies consumer behavior and specifically what makes homeowners do what they do to their homes. She became interested in the question more than 20 years ago. She had been backpacking through Central and South America where, she noticed, families lived in homes that were handed down.
